I had started my training at Singing Clouds when I was 16 in 2013. I had been on the search for a western vocal trainer for a while before that and visited several teachers. I finally found the professionalism and structure that I was seeking along with an interesting curriculum when I met Carla D'Souza. Over the year that I trained with her, I saw a significant growth in my vocal range, control over my voice and an understanding of technicalities of what parts of your throat and mouth are supposed to be used while singing for different styles. Unfortunately, due to unavoidable circumstances I had to stop my training after.

Over the years I tried too seek more opportunities to resume my training in the different places I had moved, but Carla D'Souza's style and dedication towards her students stayed back with me. I was thrilled to finally hear that she had started online training during the pandemic and I registered immediately at the age of 23 while I was putting up at a different end of the country.

Over the past 1 year, my voice has seen an even greater change and I am thrilled to now be able to sing songs I never thought were within my reach and I had only dreamt of singing. I recently started my level 3 with Ms D'Souza after also doing a couple of studio recordings with her, which are a part of the curriculum. I have now realised that recording in a studio is different from singing in general and needs to be experienced in order to get an understanding of the technicalities of how recordings work. The studio experience has helped me recognise more of my abilities and has also helped me develop more confidence in my skill.

I know it's only upward from here and I'm looking forward to training further under Ms D'Souza's tutelage.
